Mary G. Heery Scholarship

The Mary G. Heery Scholarship is grounded in the belief that academic achievement and leadership play a significant role in enhancing American citizenry. Valley City State University seeks to award students who embrace high standards and hold high expectations of themselves.
The Heery Scholarship will cover expenses for VCSU tuition, academic fees, and required books up to a maximum yearly amount of $4500. The scholarship is based on merit, potential, and the student’s need based on the completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The recipient will be selected by Faculty of the Department of Business and the Director of Financial Aid.
Scholarship recipients will be eligible for up to four years of support towards completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Business Education. The Heery Scholarship requires a special application for initial consideration. The general application is required each year to be considered for renewal. The applicant must be a full-time student, have a cumulative 3.00 grade point average (GPA) to apply initially, and have a 3.50 to renew.
To be considered for the Mary G. Heery Scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria:
• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Expect to earn a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or Business Education at Valley City State University.
• Have demonstrated a strong interest and potential for intellectual growth in business.
• Eligible students must take the majority of their coursework on campus.
